The human species is a miracle of evolution it is believed and yet, it is a miracle that has been created over and over throughout time and throughout the universe. There is a matrix within existence that directs and creates based on patterns that developed over countless universes preceding our own... a Creation Matrix ! Within this matrix is the blueprint for creation and within it exists the blueprint for creating a more dominant form of life with a purpose. While humanity is merely an incarnation of this blueprint upon the Earth, the real purpose for this lifeform is to grow and mature until ascending unto the stars. There, it's purpose is eventually to shape and cultivate what it finds until they finally transcend existence becoming godlike in their presence. For some, it is merely a transition to become avatars of the creative spirit of their universe, the Great Maker as it were.

For others, it was a quest to find purpose to their newfound powers and abilities. For others still, it could become more of a curse should they prove unable to find said purpose and they descend into something more malignant and become a threat to the very existence of all things. Humanity has always dreamt of greater things which drives them onward to become more than they were possibly meant to be. For most, it's merely to survive and possibly to thrive and yet, for others they could not be content with this. They became explorers, developers and conquerers always seeking to achieve and to gain recognition for their accomplishments. But for these particular humans on this particular world, there would be a difference as their world was not ordinary. The Earth was actually a world older than time itself.

It began within pre-existence as one of twelve worlds within a star system within whose star was an incubator for star dragons and its worlds each possessed dragons of their own. This particular world was known as Devus 7 , so named because it did not possess human life until colonists from beyond arrived who named these worlds after the name they gave to the Great Maker numbering them as they went. They would learn to coexist with the dragons out of desperation and to accept being ruled by the sentient among them as while humans were a dominant form of life within the Creation Matrix, it was not the only one to possess intelligence. So too eventually came a galactic empire that ruled over ten star systems which not only made war with the humans it found there, but sought to enslave the dragons as beasts of burden and warfare.

This would bring devastation because the dragons would not be so easily defeated even if the humans they ruled over might succumb to be ruled by whoever possessed the power to rule the survivors of bloodshed that inevitably arose from violence. It would be to this devastated star system that a group of cosmic powers arrived not seeking to help those that dwelled here but to lay a trap for an evil, tormented being who was devouring entire worlds. Called Éshr̥ Déiwo , it was a vampire who parasitically fed not just upon the lifeforms of those worlds he came upon, but the very life force of the Mother Goddess itself until becoming a cosmic threat beyond reckoning. They would use their collective power to reforge a supermassive black hole into an object transforming Devus 7 into a prison within which they impaled Éshr̥ Déiwo on a golden, rune-covered stalagmite from which there would be no escape.

Yet, in the process of creating this prison, they would also transform the planet itself transforming it into a nexus world whose Mother Goddess Pṛthvī Mātā would be transformed as well. Then came the greatest battle between Darkness and Light where the ruler over a vast empire encompassing galaxies, called the Shayāṭīn , made war with the universe itself leading some of its greatest powers to Devus 7 to make their final stand. Although the Shayāṭīn would be defeated, he held in his possession a physical manifestation of the Creation Matrix called the Eye of God with which he awakened a cosmic force of ultimate destruction that none could stop and whose insatiable Hunger had destroyed each universe before this one. This Devourer was called OBLIVION , the negation or Un-Creation and as the universe looked on in horror, they witnessed as the stars began going out and all that remained in their passing was Void and emptiness.

It was to Devus 7 that would be saviors had come because they sensed the power this world contained and believed it might yet end the destruction unfolding before their eyes. Even with the arrival of a powerful champion who had defeated Shayāṭīn and wielded the Eye of God, there would be no such hope to be fulfilled. Instead, the Eye of God created a protective sphere around this world and its inhabitants so that they might survive the storm until it was time for a new universe to be born yet again. This world would be the first within this new universe and a cycle of destruction and rebirth begun where a dozen incarnations came and went before the birth of the Earth. The humans who eventually evolved upon it would inherit a unique distinction above all other life upon their world as within their very DNA existed latent genes that could grant them the means to manipulate supernatural and paranormal abilities.

Existing unseen beyond them, however, existed a group of beings called the Grays who had been drawn to Earth to study and to chronicle its unique existence as they had sensed this nexus world from afar. They would be especially drawn to the human species researching them and removing any who they saw as a threat into a sub-dimension that still enshrouded this world and into which Worlds of Shadow existed as remnants of the worlds that had come before it. However, the Grays were not the only aliens who discovered this world. These aliens were not even only from this universe and yet, the Grays managed to protect the Earth until such time as humans could no longer be contained. Their knowledge would eventually lead to the discovery of science and then came the next great leap as they began their journey to the stars.

They were also beginning to research the hidden power within them and while for most it would thankful remain firmly locked up within them and they would perish before it could be awakened, that would not always be the case. The discovery of the Grays would make this even more difficult as they had remained hidden so as to not interfere with human development beyond more than what they deemed reasonable. As humans colonized space, their unique DNA allowed them to more easily modify themselves to live on almost any world even as their scientific genius allowed them to terraform worlds to better suit their original Terran biology. They would achieve many wondrous things even without being gods and yet, some among them would occasionally acquire such godlike powers and eventually even immortality would be within the grasp of those whose accomplishments allowed them to afford it.

The very definition of mortality was held that physical matter had limits where its vitality would wither under the influence of Entropy but that the vitality of the soul was metaphysical and everlasting. It survived death either to be reincarnated, to survive as ghosts or to be released into the afterlife to endure whatever fates awaited them. All life was subject to this fate but human life was moreso because they understood something lay beyond life and that their souls would one day have to deal with it. For most, it was merely the hope that they would not remember the burdens of life because they wished to sleep or to forget it's sorrows and the pain. But for others, the afterlife was something to be feared because you could not forget who you had been and great suffering might await even as some hoped instead for rewards because they lived a good and productive life.

The humans of Earth were, as already stated, unique and this would extend to the soul as well. But it was for those who learned to be more than mortal that things became more... interesting.
