Why are humans so special, and why are the humans of Earth even moreso than this beyond the fact that we live here? The human form is a constant within existence as it indeed always has been because ours is but another in a series of universes that existed before our own created by an object of boundless power called the
Creation
Matrix
(Eye of God). It serves as a blueprint within which are constants like the human form that replicate with differing degrees of variation. While not perfect, it seems to possess a purpose as it repeats itself across infinity on countless worlds. Earth itself is such a constant, a
nexus
world that survived the destruction of pre-existence, having been transformed by forces beyond reckoning. It began as one of twelve worlds orbiting a massive sun that served as an incubator for star dragons called
Devus
because colonists from another star system naming it after the name they gave to the
Great Maker
.
Numbering each world as they went, the humans accepted rule by dragons who were shapeshifters and found the human form more to their liking. It would be to this star system that an evil, tormented being called
Éshr̥ Déiwo
came, a cosmic force of entropy weaponized into a threat. It fed not just upon the lifeforms on these worlds but the very lifeforce of each planets themselves manifested as a
Mother Goddess
. Éshr̥ Déiwo would consume 11 worlds in this solar system before cosmic forces wielding a weapon forged from the power of a
supermassive black hole
to impale Éshr̥ Déiwo on a golden, rune-covered stalagmite on the lone surviving planet
Devus 9 from which there would be no escape. This world would be transformed as would their Mother Goddess
Pṛthvī Mātā
, attracting the attention of an intergalactic empire and its ruler the
Shayāṭīn
made war with the universe itself seeking infinite power.
In the the battle between
Darkness and Light
, the Shayāṭīn came into possession of an incomplete version of the Eye of God and the power used to defeat Éshr̥ Déiwo contained within it a fragment to make it more complete. His enemies had come to Devus 9 to make their final stand. While the Shayāṭīn would be defeated, his final act would be to awaken the ultimate manifestation of entropy, an all-consuming
Hunger called
OBLIVION
. Having taken the Eye of God from the Shayāṭīn, they used it to create a protective sphere (or
Cosmic Egg
) around this world, sheltering it from the destruction of pre-existence. Within it lay the seed of a new universe, beginning a cycle of destruction and rebirth where it survived as a dozen incarnations came and went before the birth of the Earth. The humans who evolved on this world would be uniquely gifted because the world of their origin was itself unique and replicated throughout the multiverse.
It would exist within every galaxy and dimension as an alternate reality of the original. Surrounding the Earth is an unseen subdimension that survived as a remnant of the Cosmic Egg within which exist shadows of Earth's past incarnations, where the supernatural prevails over natural environments existing in tandem with reality, shaping human myths and legends. Humans are conditioned to exist in natural worlds, but where the supernatural presents itself, they adapt and evolve to master such forces, awakened to the deeper truth of existence and daring to reshape reality through thought, will, or sacrifice. That or to become enslaved and transformed by them, even against their will, setting the stage for heroes, gods, or monsters while the Worlds of Shadow also opens doorways into the
Spirit World
which exists between the Realms of the Living and Realms of the Dead.
The human soul is a part of their metaphysical whole, having a fate bound to memory, karma, reincarnation, ghostly perseverance, and existential choice that all life was subject to. But human life was moreso subject to this fate because they understood something lay beyond life and that their souls would one day have to deal with it. For most, it was merely the hope that they would not remember the burdens of life because they wished to sleep or to forget its sorrows and the pain. But for others, the afterlife was something to be feared because you could not forget who you had been, and great suffering might await, even as some hoped instead for rewards because they lived a good and productive life. The humans of Earth were, as already stated, unique, and this extends to the soul as well. But it was for those who learned to be more than mortal that things became more... interesting.
An ancient race of observers using advanced science began to explore and to chronicle what would become known as
Earth Realm having evolved on an Earth during the
Age of Dinosaurs
to be human-like, but they weren't human. They were fascinated by humanity's
metaphysical essence
uniqueness and began experimenting to try gaining it for themselves. They began opening doorways between these worlds, allowing them to traverse the great distances between them, where they became known as the
Grays
choosing to remain hidden, not wishing to interfere in human development more than they deemed reasonable. They learned to use their technology to create illusions to disguise their true appearaance to appear more human and within the Worlds of Shadowa a small number of them became more evolved as
Grandmasters
using sorcery where their less evolved brethren used science in the outer realities.
The story of humanity reveals a profound mythos blending cosmology, metaphysics, and speculative evolution into a sweeping narrative about the role of humanity in a multiversal cycle of creation, destruction, and transcendence. Humanity has always dreamt of greater things, which drives them onward to become more than they were possibly meant to be. They became explorers, developers, and conquerors, always seeking to achieve and gain recognition for their accomplishments, but they are rarely content. As Earth's humans colonized space, their unique DNA allowed them to more easily modify themselves to live on almost any world. Within this are recurring constants of which the human form is one that transcends biology, becoming a metaphysical archetype, one that allows cross-species reproduction regardless of how alien they might be to one another.
Humans are not merely biological accidents, but intended vessels for the universe’s ongoing experiment with consciousness, creativity, and transformation. The human form is thus a miracle of evolution replicated throughout infinity like seeds expected to grow and mature until transcending the limitations of their natural existence. Some might even become godlike or avatars of the creative spirit of the universe, the
Great Maker
as it were, while for most, it became a quest to find purpose. For others, it might lead to the discovery of greater powers within the universe that they might master. Yet, it could also prove more of a curse should they unleash destructive powers or become a threat to their very survival. Terrans would use their scientific genius to terraform worlds to better suit their original Earth/Terran biology with some among them becoming more xenophobic taking the name human more literally.
They would achieve many wondrous things through their mastery of science and other unseen forces while achieving immortality by overcoming limitations of cellular regeneration, which causes
senescence
. They would use science to modify themselves for cosmetic reasons as well as transferring their consciousness into cloned bodies and artificial constructs begging the question of what is a human when machines with artificial minds might attain sentience. What separates science from the supernatural and paranormal would also come into question as the human soul became quantified and understood as energy or vitality, the very essence of life itself. It would become a forbidden science in the future when barriers between realms of the living and the dead became violated with disastrous consequences.
