Valarath

Created by the Great Maker , beings called the Ascended were created to aid in the fulfilment of Creation, acting as the architects, adding their own creative genius to its further development. One of the leaders of these architects was a male calling himself Valarath. He commanded a legion of Ascended and fulfilled creation on thousands of unliving worlds, creating life after his own design. As those he had created began to bow and to worship him, Valarath would forget his place and his purpose. He would not be alone, and when one among them called Lucifer began manipulating others among the Ascended to follow him, thinking that he could usurp the power of the Great Maker and reshape existence to his own design. Valarath would be more difficult to persuade, as where Lucifer allowed his pride to lead him astray, Valarath was resolute and devoted to what he understood was his purpose.

But where Lucifer could be faulted for his overreach due to pride in what he had become, Valarath was content with being the highest of the Ascended, needing nothing more. Lucifer and those who followed him bowed before Valarath, singing praise for his glory and offering worship for his beauty, stirring a sense of vanity within him. If Valarath would not join with Lucifer, then Lucifer would manipulate him and aid him in this was a servant of Darkness , calling herself Valerie who awakened feelings within him that Valarath did not understand. He was, for all intents and purposes, made into the Supreme God, even if he was unsure what was being made of him. But where those who followed Lucifer accepted this, most of the Ascended rejected Valarath. This filled him with jealousy and rage as confusion gripped his mind because he had no desire for any of this nor understanding that he was being manipulated.

While Lucifer and those who followed him were more powerful, those who remained true to their purpose were more numerous and founded a counter-revolution, thus beginning the War of Angels ! While Valarath could have been the leader of the Heavenly Host , he had succumbed to his vanity and challenged the Great Maker's power while Lucifer retreated into Darkness. Appealing to the Great Maker, the Heavenly Host unlocked powers they had not formerly held and fashioned a weapon designed specifically to destroy that which could not be destroyed. Calling upon Mistress Death to imbue the weapon with part of her own essence, they unleashed it against Valarath, destroying both it and Valarath. His essence would be torn asunder and scattered into countless wisps (aka spirit orbs) called Ignis Fatuus across existence

Because the weapon that destroyed Valarath was destroyed with him, he would never be reborn, but neither was he truly dead. Evolving from the wisps of Ignis Fatuus were diminutive faerie -like entities called by many names, but the most common were variations of Fireflyte whose tiny bodies and glowing wings shimmered with bioluminescent beauty and light. Their purpose seemed to be to use their power to spread the growth of life in all its many forms as benevolent architects of creation. From the beginning, however, some among them would be corrupted like Valarath himself, and a force called the anti-life became manifest within them. Some Fireflytes would possess once living flesh, human in form, but either twisted by their corruption or evolved into beings possessing great beauty but forever tainted by the essence of Mistress Death.
