Octobers Contest ~ 31 Days of Hell ~ Hell Awaits

Welcome To Hell!!!
You are a member of an elite group of soldiers that finds itself plucked from the time and space you were born into. How you arrived here is not the question. Why you are here is the question! For what purpose are you here and what is it that you're supposed to kill... that's what you do best! Surely the overlords you serve are responsible for this as they've sent you on numerous campaigns often with little reason provided other than what your target is. But this time, there are no orders. Your commanders are nowhere to be found and all you see are other soldiers just as mystified as yourself as to why they are here.
Then, you meet your first survivor who has what you need to know. This is a world of demons, of monsters and creatures once thought only myth and lore. He doesn't know everything but he knows enough that you become aware that this isn't your world anymore. You gain an understanding that you're in the fight of your life and that nothing is what it seems. As you travel, you become a member of a squad that are armed to the teeth who provide you with more information so that now you know what you are up against.
This world, this Earth, was like any other and possibly the same as your own world at one time. But then came the scientists, the explorers of the unknown who didn't know enough to leave well enough alone. They sought to understand the afterlife that their efforts had confirmed to exist and, in the process, they had opened a portal into Hell itself! No one knows for sure if this was "The" Hell or just one of many. But they would learn to think of it as such when the first biblical demon made its appearance. Humanity would not go down without a fight and found that these monsters could be defeated and even destroyed with enough firepower to do the job. Maybe they were invulnerable to such things where they came from, but here they had become creatures of flesh albeit very tortured and often vulnerable flesh.
What you learn is that the weak of this world were slaughtered like cattle and only those who armed themselves and organized behind military leaders had a fighting chance to survive. Then came the first of the Arrangers, servants of dark lords yet unseen who provided weapons and brought soldiers from other worlds to continue the fight when their source for human soldiers to replace those who had fallen became diminished. Whatever this was, it seemed more a war between Halls rather than a war between Heaven and Hell (although rumors speculated that Heaven was not so removed as one would think).
You finally encounter one of the original inhabitants of this world, a woman named Finch who fills in the remaining answers puzzling your mind. Where this was a war to the death, monsters fed on humans but humans made gains of their own by slaying their enemies. One benefit is that they become stronger, faster, they gain greater endurance and they stopped aging... supersoldiers more able to survive as if rewarded and more deserving of the life they possessed. Finch informs you that it's not only soldiers that find themselves here as there are civilians who keep appearing as if out of nowhere and it was their job to protect them.
WAR IS HELL! Finch is fond of saying, and you've just found yourself in the middle of a war where there is little to understand except that you must fight to survive... or die to face an unknown fate. Some who are slain come back in various forms. For the lucky, they come back with their minds intact and in control of themselves regardless of what became of them. These could be your allies and you might find yourself fighting alongside of them in combat if you were so worthy. But the rest, these come back in forms often wracked with pain and hungry for flesh if not the souls hidden within the flesh.
As you continue your journey, mysterious symbols and images sometimes appear upon your body. As if some unseen artist were tattooing your skin, a ghost or spirit trying to help you to survive. As to the question of "who" brought you to this place, no one really has the answer to that question. For some, the answer is they died and this is damnation for lives lived wrongly. Or maybe their lives were wasted so that possibly this was Purgatory and a second chance at life. Who knows? But you are a realist, a person with a good head on your shoulders who is finding that your ability to survive has greatly increased since your arrival. With every success comes a bit more strength and you become harder to kill.
Whatever the reason, you find yourself in this place called Planet Hell by the survivors where it's kill or be killed and you're not quite ready to be put on the menu... not just yet, not on this day!
31 Days of Hell is our annual frightfest where we at DreamslayerArtworks give our members a chance to scare the Hell out of one another. This years challenge is straight from the vein of the Twilight Zone mixed with a bit of H.P. Lovecraft and your own fertile imaginations.
Does this mean you are required to do art based on the story provided? No, the story is just to provide possibilities and a theme to get the party started. Your challenge is to do art strictly inspired by the horror/dark fantasy genre based on the Halloween season. Maybe it's trick r' treaters out collecting candy? Or maybe it's a werewolf on a rampage in downtown Los Angeles? It could be monsters, demons, ghosts... you're the artist, you decide what your art will center on.
As always, we try to have as many winners as possible and limit that number to 31. So there are many potential winners and we always try to add surprise prizes along the way as the prizes listed are sometimes only the beginning.
So, let's see what ya got and if you can survive the challenge to see who will ultimately prevail.

RULES
IMPORTANT: NEW RULE THIS YEAR ALL PRIZE LIST MUST BE GIVEN WHEN YOU ENTER THE CONTEST please remember to include prizes in order that you might like them along with links to the items you want unless it's a gift card item, email address and usernames and for software/shippable items please include real names and home address thank you
The theme should focus on Halloween and/or horror
1) First and foremost, we want everyone to enter. If you do not wish a prize but want to participate in the spirit of showcasing your talent, we will be creating a list of those members who will officially receive a DSA No Prize. We've had trouble in the past where members enter who actually do not want to win. These members don't want to take anything away from members who are participating to win prizes and we've had issues in the past where we tried to accommodate these members but not every judge understood or read comments by the artist not to choose their image. When the official contest topic is posted, we would like any member who only wants to participate in the spirit of competition to contact us and we will officially add them to the No Prize list.
2) Your images must follow the theme to the best of your ability. But how you do this is up to your individual creativity and imagination. So ask if you have questions about the theme.
3) There is a post limit of one image a day... no reworks as all images must be original for this contest. Try adding different races and different cultures... explore the variety that makes up who and what we are.
4) Artistic nudity is allowed but our rules on child nudity apply. No child nudity is allowed. This is defined as genitals and nip's so cover them up or risk violating our rules. A good alternative would be anime.
5) The contest is open to any medium that you wish to use. You can enter with Computer generated images, photo manipulated, hand-drawn, painted, or any other type of medium you can think of. Make note of the prizes being offered as only rarely might they not be 3d oriented.
6) We consider it trolling if criticism about content is made when images are within the rules.
7) . Unless otherwise specified, make sure to add an alternate prize selection should you want a bundle or partnered item. Some of our sponsors allow this, some do not and some may on certain items of which we have no way of knowing.
8 ) Consider adding some written text to explain your illustrations to help others better understand your image and leave comments on the entries of fellow contestants to show your appreciation.
9) Make sure to check and see if the prize you have won is a coupon or a gift certificate. If it clearly says it is a coupon, do not apply it as a gift certificate at the sponsors site or vice versa.
10, please dont post images anywhere else for 2 days
11) Include the following information ~

12) Beginning June 1st, 2015; At the end of the month contests will be judged within 7 business days. Winners will be contacted but are also expected to check back in to avoid oversights barring unforeseen circumstances.

13, Winners will provide a list including each sponsor in order that they would like to have the prizes. We will then choose what prizes you win on a first come, first serve basis. When each winner has been awarded a prize, we will begin again with the First Place winner until all prizes are awarded.
A) Our normal monthly contests will have 5 winners. Our larger contests will have up to 31 winners. We will alert members should this change at any time or if the sponsors have alerted us to award items to runners up.
B. You may provide a list to us at any time during the month. Providing the list does not guarantee a prize. Items given to runners up, if any, will come from these lists or be donated by prize winners.
14) If you do not provide the items you would like where you have won a "choice" of items from the sponsor, on the list you provide to us, you will have 5 business days after notification to contact us. It is unfair that, in cases where a sponsor provides a prize to multiple winners, that winners who reply quickly must wait of winners who reply late.
